PREVIEW | Lotto NRFL Men’s 8 July

Minimal fixtures are taking place this Saturday as many Lotto NRFL Men’s sides take a break while others play catch-up games.

The most intriguing of the seven matches to be played is the Division One clash between Western Springs and Melville United which kicks-off at 5pm at Seddon Fields.

It is a crucial game for two teams in the hunt for promotion to the Premier Division. A win for the visitors will see them leap-frog their opponents into second.

The remaining division one fixtures sees Franklin United with an opportunity to climb out of last place if they can pull off what would be a shock win against fourth place North Shore United while Tauranga City United can pull further away from relegation zone if they can get up over Hibiscus Coast.

In Division Two, Waiheke United can close the gap between themselves and first place Fencibles United to five points with a positive result against Ngongotaha while Te Atatu head north of the Harbour Bridge to Takapuna’s Taharoto Park.

Rounding out Saturday’s action, the Premier Division sees four teams in action with Eastern Suburbs match against Central United the pick of the two. A win for Darren Bazeley’s side could see them climb to as high as fifth.

Bay Olympic and Three Kings United square off at Olympic Park to complete the weekend’s men’s action.
