PREVIEW | Lotto NRFL Women’s RD 10

The Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier Division roars back to life with some fascinating fixtures to ponder after last week’s Women’s Knock Out Cup took centre stage.

Headlining this weekend’s action is a tasty encounter between second place Three Kings United and fourth place Western Springs.

It is a repeat of the round one match that ended in a 3-2 victory to Three Kings but Kings coach Alan Hindson knows his side will have to be at the top of their game if they are to pull off another victory.

“It’s always a tough game [against Western Springs],” Hindson said.

“I hear they are playing well at the moment so we’ll have to be at our best.

“They are a very fit side that never give up, so our aim is to stop them playing and limit their time in possession.”

Kings are one of a number of clubs to benefit from the American College systems summer break, and will be able to call upon influential midfielder Bella Richards to an already impressive midfield line-up.

Glenfield Rovers face a trip south to Porritt Stadium, where they will be hoping to turn around their opening weekend draw against Hamilton Wanderers.

Anything but three points here for Andrew Clay’s side will certainly put a lot of pressure on them in their hunt for the title.

Fellow North Shore based club Forrest Hill Milford also face a trip south, with Claudelands Rovers’ Galloway Park their destination.

Rounding out Sunday’s Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier action is Norwest United hosting Northland at Huapai Reserve.
