PREVIEW | Lotto NRFL Women’s RD 12

Western Springs target league ‘double’ over Claudelands Rovers as they head south to Galloway Park in search of victory.

Rico Wilson’s Western Springs outfit defeated Dave Hayes’ side 2-0 earlier in the season and Hayes is fully aware of the challenge that lies ahead as Springs target the double.

“It’s a huge game for us,” Hayes said.

“They are the only team to take three points from us this year; the previous encounter was a close game and on another day we could have taken something from it.

“But, as we know, the scoresheet doesn’t lie. They are a well organised group and I definitely regard them as one of the top sides in the league.

“It’s going to be a tough game; their coach has them playing good football so we’re looking forward to a tight encounter.”

Elsewhere in the league, the top two welcome the bottom two to their home grounds.

Front runners Three Kings United meet the winless Hamilton Wanderers at Keith Hay Park while Eastern Suburbs’ Madills Farm hosts Northland.

Rounding out the weekend’s action, Norwest United face a stern test against Glenfield Rovers who will no doubt still be on a high after last weekend’s closely fought 2-1 cup victory over a strong Springs side.

Forrest Hill Milford have the bye.
